Stuart Øren Jardine, the son of Stuart Eccles Jardine and Halldis Johanna Øren (Norwegian) was born in Port of Spain in April 1953. Educated in Barbados where he completed College and then returned home at seventeen (17) years old. Shortly after his return to Trinidad, Stuart joined Sprostons (Trinidad) Ltd., in sales. After a few years, he moved on and joined Melville Shipping Ltd., where he stayed for sixteen (16) years. During this period however, Stuart went to Denmark and worked with Armada Shipping A/S for three (3) years, then did short stints with shipping companies in Oslo, New York, Liverpool and London before returning to Trinidad.

During July 1990 the company Twin Island Shipping Agencies Ltd.(TISAL), was established with Tara Teelucksingh and Stuart Jardine being the founders. Stuart physically joined TISAL during March 1992 when the first of the Geest Line vessels called at Port of Spain.

Stuart was made Honorary Consul General for The Kingdom of Norway in March 1992 which position he holds to date. During his career, he has been President of The Shipping Association of Trinidad & Tobago a couple of times, represented the shipping fraternity as a Commissioner of the Port Authority of Trinidad & Tobago
